Acolytes
Jeanette Monsegur

Jeanette Monsegur (760-599-9724)

acolytes@trinityescondido.org

Trinity's acolytes serve at Sunday's ten o'clock service, each typically serving about twice a month. In addition, acolytes serve at special worship services throughout the year. Acolytes should be twelve or older. Although most recruiting is focused on the youth, adults are encouraged to consider serving. No prior experience is needed. We teach you all you need to know. You learn why we do what we do in our worship service, thus enriching your own worship experience. It's a rewarding way to help enhance our worship.

Adult Education (Rector's Forum)
The Rev. Meg Decker

The Rev. Meg Decker (760-743-1629)

rector@trinityescondido.org

Trinity's Rector's Forum meets every Sunday (except breakfast Sundays) between worship services at 9:00 a.m. in the parish hall. The topics vary and are generally decided by the participants. The format is mostly one of a brief presentation followed by open discussion. No reservations are required; just show up and join in the discussions as much or as little as you like.

African Crafts (African Team Ministry)
Suzan Reiner

Suzan Reiner (760-751-0943)

africanteamministry@trinityescondido.org

African Team Ministry presents African crafts for purchase to the parish each Christmas. It's a win-win situation. You win by being able to purchase beautiful gifts and those who made the craft win in receiving the proceeds from the sales. Make a note to include African crafts on your next Christmas shopping list.

Also, help is always needed. If you can help setup and conduct the sale, please contact Suzan.

Altar Guild
Sandy Dabasinskas

Sandy Dabasinskas (760-747-6450)

altarguild@trinityescondido.org

Altar Guild members are the invisible contributors to Trinity's worship. They prepare the altar for the eucharist and clean the items afterwards. This is done for the two Sunday eucharists, the Wednesday eucharist and any special services that may be scheduled. Trinity is blessed with four teams, thus a team will have "the duty" only one week a month. It's a great way to become more knowledgeable about the eucharist. Prior experience is not required. Newcomers are paired with expert teachers and learn it all by working side by side.

Audio (worship service recordings)
Bob Harrison

John Monsegur (760-599-9724)

audio@trinityescondido.org

The audio ministry records the psalm and the sermon at the ten o'clock service. They are then made available to parishioners by two means: They can be downloaded from Trinity's web site, or parishioners may request a cassette or CD of a particular Sunday's psalm and sermon. The ministry means a lot to shut-ins and those who may be away for extended periods. Volunteers are especially needed to help with the recording during the service. It's an easy way to make a meaningful difference.

Bell Choir
Joe Stanford

Joe Stanford (760-728-8499)

bellchoir@trinityescondido.org

An exciting new addition to the music program at Trinity is the bell choir, known as the Trinity Bells. Led by Head Ringer Joe Stanford, they practice each Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. and give performances during worship services on a near monthly basis. Please contact Joe if you are interested in participating in this new ministry.

Breakfast (monthly, second Sundays, 9-9:45)
Paul DesForges

Paul DesForges (760-735-8060)

breakfast@trinityescondido.org

Food is always a great way to get people together, and Trinity's monthly parish breakfast is our most popular continuing culinary event. It's the time when worshippers from both services get together for fellowship and great food. There are many ways to help: setting up the parish hall the afternoon before, preparing the breakfast Sunday morning, serving the food, cleaning the kitchen afterwards, restoring the parish hall to its normal configuration, and washing table cloths. Team leaders recruit for each month, so please consider lending a hand. You're only committed to doing it for that one time. You'll love the comraderie and getting to know your fellow parishioners.

Chalice Bearers
The Rev. Meg Decker

The Rev. Meg Decker (760-743-1629)

chalicebearers@trinityescondido.org

The Chalice bearers assist in each of our Eucharistic services serving the wine during communion. It is a wonderful way to experience a deeper meaning in worship. Chalice bearers typically serve once or twice a month. The timing is flexible depending on personal schedules. Additional chalice bearers are always needed, so if this is a ministry that may interest you, contact Rev. Meg for more information.

Choir
David Lewis

David Lewis (760-724-8781)

choir@trinityescondido.org

Trinity's choir is recognized as one of the best church choirs in the North County area. The choir enhances our ten o'clock worship service through a variety of musical offerings. In addition, the choir gives several special performances throughout the year. All who yearn to make a joyful noise unto the Lord are cordially invited to consider being a part of the choir. The choir rehearses each Wednesday evening, 7-9. It's a rewarding addition to the service. Contact David for more information.

Choristers
Dana Stanford

Dana Stanford (760-728-8499)

choristers@trinityescondido.org

Without a doubt, Trinity has one of the best chorister programs in the diocese. Children ages six to twelve help lead the congregation in worship through their beautiful music. They learn the fundamentals of music and apply these principles at the Choral Eucharist approximately once a month and on major feast days of the church. Singing in the Trinity children's choir allows a child to experience the beautiful choral music of notable composers from the Renaissance through our own day. The choristers rehearse each Wednesday at six p.m. Enrich your child's growth through this wonderful ministry.

Clerk (Vestry meetings)
Ruth Barry

Molly Smith (760-480-8190)

clerk@trinityescondido.org

Molly Smith is Trinity's parish clerk. The parish clerk attends all vestry meetings, maintaining a record of all that is said and done. The minutes are then promulgated to the vestry and archived as part of the official record of the parish. Stand-in clerks are needed to fill in when Ruth is unable to attend. It's a great way to get to know the vestry better and to serve the parish. If you'd like to help, please give Ruth a call.

Coffee Hour
Moina Lucent

Moina Lucent (760-480-1445)

coffeehour@trinityescondido.org

Coffee Hour is the casual time of gathering each Sunday after the ten o'clock service. Parishioners and visitors not only enjoy some delicious treats along with their coffee or tea, but have the opportunity to meet and chat, getting to know each other better. It's a time to catch up on what has been happening in other parishioners' lives, and it's a time to coordinate ministry activities. In short, it's a vital time in the parish's life. Please consider hosting a week every now and then. Don't want to do it alone? Then team up with a friend. It's fun, it's easy, and it really helps the parish.

Daughters of the King
Karola Paul

Stephanie Tobin (760-233-2287)

daughtersoftheking@trinityescondido.org

Daughters of the King is part of an international Anglican Order for women. Its members attempt to follow a vow of regular prayer, study and service. Learn more about the order at the national DOK web site.

At Trinity, the Daughters fulfill these vows by acting as the parish godparents to all children baptized at Trinity and by overseeing the Parish Library.

DOK is open to all women in the parish. Interested women are always welcomed to come and find out more at the group's meeting on the first Sunday of each month at 11:30 in the parish library at the front of the parish hall.

Friday Night at the Movies
Matt Pastell

Matt Pastell (760-432-8174)

movies@trinityescondido.org

Friday night at the movies is purely a social event. Movie goers meet at 7 o'clock the first Friday night of the month at the Pastells' home. Resident parish movie historian Matt Pastell selects a classic to share that meets his exacting standards. Armed with popcorn and other treats brought to share, viewers settle in to enjoy Matt's offering and search for the movie's religious theme, which frequently requires enlightened imaginations.

All are invited. If he knows they are coming, Matt will have a feature for the kids too. For directions or to let him know you'll be there, just send Matt an email. It's a great "cheap" evening out with friends.

Greeters
John Monsegur

John Monsegur (760-599-9724)

greeters@trinityescondido.org

Greeters serve at the ten o'clock service, welcoming worshippers as they arrive and assisting them in locating their name tags. They invite visitors to sign the visitors' book and offer them a name tag. Following the service they offer to walk with visitors over to the parish hall for refreshments. It's great way to meet fellow parishioners and a wonderful ministry in welcoming our visitors.

Habitat for Humanity
Paul DesForges

Paul DesForges (760-735-8060)

habitatforhumanity@trinityescondido.org

North County Habitat for Humanity is one of the most active chapters in the country. Trinity is a proud supporter and fields a team of volunteers two or three times a year depending on needs. Anyone can serve. One does not have to be an expert carpenter or whatever. The Habitat team teaches you what you need to know and places you on jobs you can easily do. It's a rewarding ministry working to provide homes for those who need them.

Interfaith Community Services (ICS) at Trinity
Merv Parrott

Sandy Dabasinskas (760-747-6450)

ics@trinityescondido.org

Interfaith Community Services is an ecumenical service organization serving the needs of the homeless and needy in Escondido. Trinity collects food donations which are taken to ICS weekly. Every worshipper can help by bringing any non-perishable canned or packaged food to the collection area in the church entry. Also, help is needed to take the food donations down to ICS.

In addition, two teams of parishioners serve breakfast to those in need once a month at the Interfaith Community Services facility. The teams urgently need more help, so please consider volunteering. That's only one early day every other month to help people who could otherwise go hungry. If you are able to serve on one of the breakfast teams, please contact the office at 760-743-1629 or office@trinityescondido.org for more information.

Junior Warden
Craig Wilson

Craig Wilson (760-806-7991)

juniorwarden@trinityescondido.org

Vestry elects the Junior Warden from its membership in a special meeting immediately following the annual meeting. Traditionally, the Junior Warden is the "People's Warden," a listening ear if you have any complaints or suggestions you wish to convey. Trinity's Junior Warden assists the Rector as needed and stands in for the Senior Warden. If you have any questions about the parish, you'll get some good answers from the Junior Warden.

Kairos Prison Ministry
Keith Relph

Keith Relph (760-489-9020)

kairos@trinityescondido.org

The Kairos Prison Ministry conducts two programs annually with the inmates at Donovan Prison. Parishioners can be involved in two ways. One is to actually participate in the weekend, either as a team member or by attending the closing session. Your presence counts. It is rewarding to work with and encourage men who are struggling to turn their lives around.

In addition and most importantly, parishioners provide home-baked cookies as teaching gifts to the prisoners who participate in the weekend. Trinity is known for its generosity in baking cookies. It's a rewarding, teaching experience for the whole family to work together, making a difference in changing men's lives. Upcoming weekends are announced in the bulletin and newsletter.

Newcomers
Maddie Bruhn

Emily Cutrer (760-755-7332)

newcomers@trinityescondido.org

The Newcomers Committee works to welcome those who are new to the parish and help them begin their ministry among us. The committee works with the Rector in scheduling teaching and social events that help make newcomers a full part of the parish community. First impressions are vital, and this is where it happens. Your help is needed. It's a great way to serve and to meet those new faces you see in worship.

Newsletter
Greg Wasson & Dave Valiulis
Dave Cowles

Greg Wasson & David Valiulis (760-746-9188) & Dave Cowles (858-485-5585)

newsletter@trinityescondido.org

A lot of help is needed in publishing Trinity's monthly newsletter. Articles must be written, editors lay it out and produce a master, proofreaders check it all, copies are reproduced in the office, and a team folds, assembles and mails it. Many hands make light work, so consider helping in this important parish ministry. There is a role for everyone. We especially need help on the editorial team.

Office Volunteers
Suzan Reiner

Suzan Reiner (760-743-1629)

office@trinityescondido.org

Suzan Reiner is the parish administrator and coordinates the Office Volunteers team. You can help in many ways. First and foremost, we frequently need volunteers to help with administrative tasks as they come up, so please let Suzan know if you are available and willing to assist. Also, we need volunteers to help run the office when Suzan is on vacation, so consider lending a hand with that task also. Come and hob nob with the movers and shakers.

Organist
David Lewis

David Lewis (760-743-1629 church office)

organist@trinityescondido.org

David Lewis is Trinity's organist and develops the music for each of our worship services. His goal is to provide the parish a rich diversity of music and various styles. David solicits your inputs and feedback.

Prayer Request
The Rev. Meg Decker

The Rev. Meg Decker (760-743-1629)

prayerrequest@trinityescondido.org

Prayer is an essential part of our spiritual life. There are three easy ways to submit a prayer request. You can make a request on the tear-off sheet in the bulletin and drop it in the collection plate. You can call or drop by the office and fill out a prayer request card. You can enter requests in the prayer book at the church entry; these become a part of that Sunday's Prayers of the People.

Prayers & Squares
Dru Cowles

Dru Cowles (858-485-5585)

prayersandsquares@trinityescondido.org

Prayers & Squares is a wonderful ministry which extends our love to those parishioners, loved ones and relatives who are seriously ill and are unable to attend church. The ministry is two-fold. It begins with group members making the lap quilts which will be presented to the recipients. Then, during a worship service the quilts are blessed, and as they leave church, parishioners tie a knot in the quilting threads, saying a prayer for the recipient as they do. Prayers & Squares meets the first Saturday of each month in the Parish Hall at 9:00 am.

Rotational Shelter
Eric Turrentine

Eric Turrentine

rotationalshelter@trinityescondido.org

Trinity volunteers to host the rotational shelter each year in the January/February timeframe. Cots are set up in the little house and we typically host 10-12 guests for the two-week period. Help is needed in setting everything up, moving our guests in, providing meals, hosting overnight, transporting guests to training sessions and jobs, and restoring the little house to its normal configuration afterwards. In addition, contributions are needed to provide funds to purchase needed food and personal items. This is a parish-wide ministry, typically involving 60-70 parishioners in needed tasks. Come and be a part of helping others in getting their lives back on track.

Senior Warden
Paul DesForges

Paul DesForges (760-735-8060)

seniorwarden@trinityescondido.org

The Senior Warden is traditionally known as the "Rector's Warden." The Senior Warden is selected by the Rector for a one-year term. The Senior Warden assists in planning for and running the Vestry meetings. Complaints and suggestions may also be conveyed via the Senior Warden.

Stewardship
John Monsegur

Donna Kerwin (760-723-1779)

stewardship@trinityescondido.org

The Stewardship committee works year round to grow, coordinate, and connect the many ministries at Trinity.  In the Fall they also develop and initiate a campaign for the ingathering of time, talents, and treasures, so we can continue proclaim by word and example the good news of Christ.

Stewardship is a covenant between God and his people that the gifts of God (each individual’s time talents, and treasures) will be used joyfully for God’s purpose of transforming lives through Christ. This covenant is between you and God.  As members of Trinity Episcopal Church, we are members of the body of Christ. Like the parts of a human body, we have different functions, each necessary to the sustenance of the whole.  Through stewardship, we perform our ordained function—or dedicate our gifts—and thus proclaim, not just by word, but also by example, the good news of Christ.

If you are interested in being a part of this exciting ministry please contact Donna Kerwin.

Sunday School
The Rev. Meg Decker

Rev. Meg (760-743-1629)

sundayschool@trinityescondido.org

Trinity's Sunday School is one of the most exciting in Escondido. Much of the curriculum is written locally and is coordinated with the lectionary the adults hear in church. Families are encouraged to discuss topical questions. Principal coordinators of our Sunday School are the rector and Celina Lopes. Please email them if you have any questions.

Trinity ToyMakers
Joe Stanford

Joe Stanford (760-728-8499)

trinitytoymakers@trinityescondido.org

You've heard about them, and this is where the wood meets the road. The Trinity ToyMakers construct wooden Christmas toys which are distributed to needy children in the Escondido area. The ToyMakers do most of their work at Chief ToyMaker Joe Stanford's workshop in Fallbrook. However, some of the tasks can be done at home. In addition to the Christmas toys, the group takes on other projects throughout the year involving wood.

trinitYouth (Youth Group)
Enrique Serrano

Enrique Serrano 619-592-0826

youth@trinityescondido.org

trinitYouth exists to encourage and empower youth, grades 7-12, in faithful Christian living. We are committed to opening our hearts to one another and to those outside the church, engaging our minds in understanding ourselves as God's creatures in God's world, offering our hands for the support of God's church, God's kingdom, and God's creation, and lifting our voices in praising our God and proclaiming the Good News of Jesus! We meet for Sunday School at 9 a.m., monthly for fun and service, and quarterly for alternative worship expression. Call Enrique or email her for information on getting involved!

Vestry
Paul DesForges

Paul DesForges, Senior Warden (760-735-8060)

vestry@trinityescondido.org

The Vestry is Trinity's governing board. It establishes the annual budget and assists in coordinating the various ministries and functions in the parish. The vestry meets once a month to exchange ideas and report on the status of parish ministries. There are eleven members, a third of which are elected at the annual meeting each January for a three-year term. You can make your inputs to all of the Vestry members via the above email address. Meet the Vestry members. Serving on the Vestry is one of the greatest contributions a parishioner can make to the parish. Parishioners are encouraged to consider this vital ministry.

Web Site
Dave Cowles

Dave Cowles (858-485-5585)

webmaster@trinityescondido.org

Trinity's web site provides an important and effective means for visitors to find the parish and learn about us. It is also a convenient way to promulgate information to parishioners in a timely manner. The web site team collects data, designs and constructs web pages and posts them. It's a great way to learn how to be a part of the world wide web while fulfilling the parish's mission. No previous experience is required; we'll teach you all you need to know.
