Parishioners enjoyed a fantastic Mardi Gras party February 20. Often, "Shrove Tuesday" is associated with pancake suppers, but not at Trinity this year. Instead, this was a decadent "Fat Tuesday" celebration in the age-old tradition of cleaning out the kitchen cupboards of fatty foods and leavening in preparation for Lent. Tables were ladened with the most tempting of culinary delights, temptations most of us haven't enjoyed for years. No doubt everyone gave themselves abundant reasons to be penitent during Lent. A special thanks to David Lewis and all of those who worked so hard to make this one of Trinity's most enjoyable evenings.
The dinner began at 6:00 P.M. and was followed by a very special musical event for the whole family: the Vagabond Combo. The combo included Claire Ward on Piano, Ed Kruck on Vibes and Flugel Horn, Jack Story on Sax and Clarinet and Carl Warren on percussion. The combo features classic tunes from the 1930's, 40's and 50's. They were spectacular. Incidentally, Claire played for many years at the USO. She was all over the keyboard, and, believe it or not, she is 93 years old! The Vagabond Combo gave Trinity a very special evening; thank you Vagabonds!
