Trinity ToyMakers had another very good year. Designing and planning began in late spring and the work began in earnest in late summer and the fall. It all culminated with the delivery of nearly 400 toys to the sanctuary December 21 for dedication prior to delivery to local charities for needy children.
The toys reflect the efforts of a large cross section of Trinity parishioners. Much of the work is done in ToyMaster Joe Stanford's woodworking shop. 5-15 parishioners and friends gathered each Saturday and on selected weekdays. They were carefully tutored on how to use assigned equipment and then went about their business under the watchful eye of ToyMaster Joe.
And it's not all about wood. Other parishioners were hard at work at home, painting faces on "little people" or making dolls and bedding for cradles.
ToyMakers is the largest service ministry at Trinity. It allows people of various talents to work together as community. And it embraces the age spectrum, providing a fantastic opportunities for families to work together demonstrating the true spirit of Christmas. As a results, hundreds of local, needy children broke out in bright smiles as they opened their special toys on Christmas morning.
