The Rotational Shelter is Coming Saturday, Feb 11--Saturday, Feb. 25
Imagine--parents and children with nowhere to spend the night--Trinity makes a difference by hosting the Rotational Shelter, currently Escondido's ONLY program for homeless families. Here's what you can do to help us be ready when our guests come on February 11:
* Volunteer to spend one night here at Trinity, hosting our guests--7 dates available.
* Volunteer to drive on weekdays, morning shifts still available, 7am is the target time.
* Contribute money to purchase food as needed--breakfast and lunch supplies and milk. We will be receiving special contributions Sunday for this purpose.
* Lend us some entertainment: DVDs, games, art supplies.
* Volunteer to be a daytime host for weekends and holidays when our guests will have nowhere to go if someone from Trinity isn't here (Saturdays, Sundays, Monday, Feb 20, morning or afternoon).
Trinity has been a part of the Rotational Shelter Network for over 30 years, thanks to the hard work of many. Sign up Sunday or email today to offer your help.

The Annual Meeting aftermath:
Thank you to all who made our Annual Meeting and Cook-off a great success! We raised $739 to be contributed to our perpetual memorials for the support of good causes in our community of Escondido. For a list of winners, as well as pictures of all the fun, see Trinity's website For even more detail, you can find our Annual Report here which will give you the scoop on our ministries in 2011 and our 2011 and 2012 financial situation.
Finally, congratulations to our new vestry members who take on the real work of leading the church: Cassie Lieurance, Kathleen Robertson, Holly Savarese, and Ken White.

The Next Step Leadership Retreat this Saturday
Following the Annual Meeting, it's time to get to work on Trinity's Future. The Vestry, staff and other leaders will be meeting this Saturday to imagine what Trinity will be in 2012 and beyond. You can join us without even leaving your home--just remember Trinity and its leaders in prayer throughout the day on Saturday. |
Breakfast Sunday almost here! Sunday, February 12, 9am
Seems like just last week we were eating together! Yes, it's time to come to the parish hall again, this time for breakfast! It will be served, hot and yummy, by your Vestry (and friends) on the Second Sunday of the month which is next week, Sunday, Feb. 12. We start after the 8:00 service and continue serving until about 9:30. Best deal for a meal in town! Bring friends! |
Mardi Gras! Tuesday, February 21, 6pm Fun, fun and more fun! All ages are invited for one last party! It's Mardi Gras dinner and dance, featuring live music by the Taildraggers, and great food by you! It's a potluck, but NO rabbit food, it's Mardi Gras decadence for us! Bring your favorite outrageous entree or side, we've got dessert covered. To see how much fun all this should be, check out images from last year's Mardi Gras. |
Trinity's Lenten Plans Lent begins February 22 For Lent this year, we're giving up being timid! Trinity's challenge: To talk about the Bible! This year's program:
GOD'S WORD--my words
Get ready to study the Bible, and even talk about it as we use Sunday's message as a foundation for hearing God's message in the week ahead. Details are available this Sunday. |
