Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido

Trinity's Staff

The Rev. Meg Decker The Reverend Meg Decker, Rector
The Rev. Meg Decker was ordained to the priesthood in November of 1990. From the Diocese of Nevada, most of her time as a priest has been at Trinity. Meg's passions are for intergenerational ministries and faith formation in children, and for the place of creativity in any ministry. She has one daughter, Emily.
The Rev. Bob Lucent The Reverend Bob Lucent, Presbyter Residentiary
Fr. Bob attended Seabury Western Seminary and was ordained as a priest and married Moina in 1952. He served on two Indian reservations, in Rapid City and in Louisiana until he was commissioned as a chaplain in the Navy in 1962. He was stationed with the Marines at Camp Pendleton (that was when they first "discovered" Escondido) and at the Navy Traning Center until 1965. He and Moina returned to the midwest where he spent the next ten years in urban Indian ministry. In 1975 he was called as rector of the Church of the Holy Family in Fresno where he served for 16 years. He retired in 1992 and he and Moina moved to Escondido.
David Lewis David Lewis, Organist, Director of Music
At heart, David is still in the older more traditional forms of music and liturgy, but he brings to Trinity a great deal of diversity. David has his music degree from San Diego State in choral conducting and has done graduate work with Sir David Willcocks. David has been the founder and director of The San Luis Rey Chorale and Chamber Orchestra, in Vista, for 28 years. He also plays in an eight member "praise band" called Laudamus. David says that just a few years ago he would have said "Over my dead body," but admits that while the music is not always to his liking, it is fun to play, and "If it is meaningful to the people in the congregation, and brings them closer to God....I'll play it."
Suzan Reiner Suzan Reiner, Parish Administrator
Suzan Reiner is a transplanted New Yorker who has called Southern California her home for more than thirty-three years. A graduate of C. W. Post College on Long Island, Suzan taught elementary school in Escondido for twenty-one years and retired from teaching in June of 2004. A long-standing member of the Trinity family, Suzan has been in charge of our African Team Ministries outreach program for a number of years. She enjoys staying in touch with distant friends via e-mail and surfing the net. She and her husband Bob celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary in August and are the parents of two grown sons.
Dana Stanford Dana Stanford, Director of Choristers
Dana enjoys sharing her gift of music. In addition to working with Trinity's choristers, she sings in the Palomar Chorale as well as in the Trinity Adult Choir. She is also an elementary music teacher in San Marcos where she teaches singing, instrumental, and general music theory using the Kodaly method. Her goal is to continue a Trinity chorister program that helps create an understanding and connection to our Anglican tradition through music.
