Acolytes

What is an acolyte?

Acolytes are those folks sitting up front during worship wearing the black and white robes.  They are the silent leaders of worship, taking care of the transition points of worship.  They lead processions, begin and end the service, and take care of other details.

Why would you want to be one?

Acolytes get a front row view of the worship experience.  As an acolyte, you know what is happening and why.  Acolytes are an important part of the Sunday morning event because they keep things moving smoothly–no awkward pauses when there are good acolytes around!

Who can be an acolyte?

Trinity’s acolytes usually start serving in middle school.  Adults and older teens are also welcome to join the ranks.  We teach you everything you need to know–not only what we do, but why and when.  Acolytes are scheduled to serve on Sundays at 10am, usually twice a month.  They also serve at special worship services, and those may require extra rehearsals.  Acolyte practice is scheduled, usually on Saturdays, on an irregular basis.
