About Us

Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido is a part of the United States Episcopal Church. In the Episcopal Church we have many different flavors of worship style and belief. We like to think our differences create beauty. Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido is a progressive, Christ-centered group who invites all people to our worship. We, at Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido, believe that all are welcome at Christ’s table. We embrace liturgy, social justice, and inclusion. Despite our traditional worship style, we delight in the loud mistakes of life.

Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 845 Chestnut Street, in the heart of Old Escondido, California. Trinity is currently in the transition process of calling its new rector. Our Interim Rector is The Reverend Mark Galbraith. Our Sunday service is 10am with a Coffee Hour afterwards. In addition, we have many active ministry programs, and sponsor frequent events for our parish and community. Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido hosts weddings, funerals and baptisms. Local non-profit service organizations and groups take advantage of our building use to host their weekly meetings.

Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido is:

Sacred

Within the walls of Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido, we desire to create a space considered worthy of spiritual respect and devotion. Our worship and the Eucharist often inspire awe and reverence. We endeavor to create a space where we can commune with our creator while delighting in the joy of praising Christ.

Community

One of the jokes at Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido is that we are not a church where you can get lost in a crowd. You won’t be able to sit on a pew long without those around you noticing that there is a new “neighbor” in their midst. We take our community of Trinity seriously as well as the larger community we all share. We want everyone who attends Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido to feel as though they are a part of something larger than themselves.

Inclusive

Trinity is a place for people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, abilities, political beliefs, and marital/family status. We are not a church where you will need to fight off negative messages about groups of people. We never want to make anyone feel as if they are less worthy or less loved by God. God loves you. There are no exceptions.

Rational

You don’t have to check your brain at the door. One of the three pillars of the Episcopal faith is reason. In fact, our “reason” is a source of authority. God gave us brains to think with, and a heart to feel with. We ought to use them. We want our congregants at Trinity Episcopal Church Escondido to be thoughtful in their faith and “wrestle with God”. not blindly follow doctrine. To that end, we provide multiple study venues for investigating your rational mind.

Relevant

Trinity Episcopal Church, Escondido shows up. We are present in our community and active in Interfaith Community Services. Our Rector preaches an engaging sermon that takes the liturgical readings and applies them to your life, here and now. He takes the ancient texts, dusts off the cobwebs and makes them relevant. We don’t shy away from the sticky topics of our day. We dive right in.
