Today in Sunday School

Today’s Topic: Love
Sunday school started out with a “secret ninja mission” into church to take a look at the vine “growing” in front of the altar.

When the kids returned back to the classroom they discussed the symbolism of the vine and it’s fruit. The vine was representative of Jesus and planted by God. The fruit of the vine represents all the good things in life, especially “Love”.

For a fun activity the group was divided into two teams to go outside and look for fruit. The kids had fun picking little berries from the bushes outside the classroom. When everyone came back in, the kids colored paper cut-outs of bunches of grapes and discussed some of the “fruit” in their lives. Of course it took a minute for the kids to open up to the question. It was easy to talk about favorite treats like spaghetti and chocolate, but as the conversation went on the kids were able to add other this like movies and eventually special pets in their lives (Paco and Tuesday were mentioned). The colored fruit will be attached to the vine in church to share with the rest of the congregation.

  1. Loved that secret ninja mission. I wondered who those people were sneaking into the church and out again!
