Annual Candlelight Advent Procession

This service is one of the glories of the Anglican Church. It has been presented in this way by choirs throughout the world for over a hundred years. The service begins in darkness as the Parish Choir and children Choristers move throughout the church, with only their candles to light the way. Stopping in each corner of the sanctuary, lessons are read, prayers are offered and music is sung. As the choirs move about the church, more and more light is added, symbolizing Christ’s light coming into the world.
This year all of the choral music is by twentieth century composers. This is a perfect way to start the busy Christmas season. Most of the service is quiet and contemplative, providing an opportunity to relax, pray, sing and be inspired. For more information call 760 743-1629.
